Fishing on the Cowlitz is doing good. We are hearing and seeing more steelhead
every day. The summer run are averaging 10-12 pounds. Bank anglers at
Barrier are catching summer-run along with Spring Chinook. We have some
bigger Springers showing up now. Yesterday we weighed in a 20 pound as
well as a 22 pound Chinook. Today we weighed in a 23 Pound Chinook!
Boat fishermen have been back bouncing in Baker Rock and getting big Chinook.
In years past the bulk of our Springers seem to come in June & July.
Boat angler fishing for steelhead are doing good between Blue Creek and
Mission Bar.
Coons Shrimp and drivers seem to be doing good again this year. Bank fishermen
are using a lot of Corkies or sand shrimp if you prefer bait.
Mayfield, Riffe and Swaford pond are doing good for pan fish.
Our weather has been great so take a day and go fishing for your favorite
fish.
